Hi team,
I wanted to share that I recently had the chance to be interviewed for ASAM's "Addiction Medicine: Beyond the Abstract" podcast about a (somewhat) recent paper on xylazine-associated wounds.
It was a really fun opportunity to talk about the overlap between ID and SUD for an audience that is primarily addiction focused. I gave a shoutout to our SIG, so I wanted to share here.
If you give it a listen, you'll hear me talk about how, as a resident in 2018, I went to a Grand Rounds that introduced me to this area of ID, and it changed the course of my career. The person who gave that Grand Rounds was our own Elana Rosenthal Reflecting on that felt like a fun full-circle moment now that our SIG is gaining so much momentum.
I'll link the podcast below for anyone who might want to give it a listen. As always, I'm so grateful for the inspiration and support from this group. Hope to see many of you soon at IDWeek.
