Science Speaks Covers CROI

Researchers and clinicians from around the world gathered in Seattle for the 2019 Conference on Retroviruses and Opportunistic Infections (CROI) March 4 – 7, and IDSA/HIVMA’s global Science Speaks blog was there.

On-site coverage of breaking news included reports on the cases of the “London patient,” as well as the “Düsseldorf patient.” Science Speaks also reported on study results informing policy and practice, including findings that two “game changing” treatments together can improve TB prevention among people with HIV, that point-of-care viral load testing could make a difference everywhere, and that unanticipated factors may have contributed to treatment uptake in the PopART trial.
