Write a summary of the refutation or argumentation and overview for the journal or news

Write a summary of the refutation or argumentation

Figure out the author's topic.
At the beginning of your essay, repeat the topic of the original in your own language.

The topic should be a sentence, a summary of the author's views or ideas.

State the author
s main argument. Explain each of the main points in the text, including arguments that can help you understand the point.

  • This part of the overview may be difficult to write. The original author will list many details to support the argument. You need to pick out which are the most important details and which can be omitted.
  • Mainly summarize the central argument and the arguments directly related to your paper. If an argument has nothing to do with your thesis, you can skip it as long as the topic is not entirely dependent on the argument.

Find the author's argument against other arguments. Because refuting a paper usually refutes another point of view, you should explain all the evidence or points in the article that refute the other point of view.

However, if there is no argument in the article, when you write the summary, don't speculate about the arguments that the article may use. If you want to speculate on relevant information, wait until the overview is finished before writing.

State the author's conclusion. Usually, this is another expression of the original theme.

In the overview, do not state your personal conclusions. Only state the author’s conclusions or opinions.

Write an overview for the journal or news

Note the main events below. In the notes, list all the main events described in the text.

The events in the text may not be written in chronological order. When you write down the main events, number them in chronological order, and then write a summary.

According to essay bot professionals you need to arrange the main events in chronological order. If the news is not written in chronological order, you must rearrange the events in chronological order when you write them.

The summary of the original text is basically an overview of the story or event that happened. Although the original text may only focus on a certain point of the incident, your overview should restore the full picture of the incident.

If possible, explain the background of the story. If the individual news only writes part of a series of events, you should also explain the relationship between the events in the text and the series of events.

  • This is especially important for a series of events, rather than a separate article.
  • For example, if you are doing an overview of an article about schools not allowing students to bring peanut butter sandwiches, you might consider mentioning that other schools in the area have taken the same measures.

Mention editorial views or conclusions. If the reporter or editor has reached a conclusion in the article or expressed an opinion on the event, write it in the summary.

In the overview, don’t state your personal opinion or analysis of the article.
