Description:

We are seeking enthusiastic volunteers interested in medical education and game-based learning to join the Planning Committee for the annual Out-BREAK! Escape Room activity at IDWeek. This group works collaboratively to develop, build and implement a novel, fun and educational escape room activity open to all IDWeek attendees each year. 

We anticipate this application to take less than 15 minutes.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Adult and/or pediatric ID physicians (including fellows), ID advanced practice providers (APPs), ID pharmacists, and other ID professionals (e.g., microbiologists) are welcome to apply

  • Interest in medical education and game-based learning

  • Availability to:

    • Meet at least once monthly for large group Planning Committee meetings from January until IDWeek in October (Estimated time: 2 hours/mo)

    • Meet collaboratively as needed to accomplish subcommittee tasks. Time commitment will vary by subcommittee; more information available below.

    • Complete individual tasks outside of group setting. Time commitment will vary by subcommittee; more information available below.

Purpose

The IDWeek Out-BREAK! Escape Room Planning Committee is seeking volunteers to join the group in planning the yearly Out-BREAK! Escape Rooms for the IDWeek conference.

Composition

Interested applicants from a variety of backgrounds such as adult and/or pediatric ID physicians and fellow, ID advanced practice providers, ID pharmacists, and other ID professionals (e.g., microbiologists) is invited to apply.

Method of Appointment

Current IDWeek Out-BREAK! Escape Room Planning Committee members will review applications and appoint members.

Term of Office

IDWeek Out-BREAK! Escape Room Planning Committee members are committed for at least one year of service (until the end of IDWeek 2025) and can stay involved in planning as long as they wish.

Accountability

The IDWeek Out-BREAK! Escape Room Planning is overseen by IDWeek and the Volunteer  Committee.
