Description:

The purpose of the Division Chiefs COP is to support ID division chiefs by creating a community that fosters collaboration, develops resources, and assists in recruiting and retaining the next generation of ID professionals. The group is also charged with contributing to IDSA’s strategic plan through a work plan submitted annually for approval.

Responsibilities

Compensation Work Group:

Identifies, develops, and delivers compensation-focused resources and services for ID division chiefs.

Recruitment Work Group:

Identifies, develops, and delivers recruitment-focused resources and services for the Division Chiefs CoP.

Well-Being Work Group:

Identifies, develop, and deliver well-being and fulfillment-focused resources and services for the Division Chiefs CoP.

Leadership Positions

Work Group Chair:

Leads the work group, communicates with work group members, and oversee all projects of the work group.  Serves on the COP Leadership Group and participates in standing monthly leadership and work group meetings.

Work Group Vice Chair:

Leads the work group with the chair, assists in overseeing projects of the work group.  Participates in work group meetings.  Work group vice chairs will become work group chairs after two years assuming they demonstrate commitment to the work of the group.

At-Large Member to the Leadership Group:

Serves a voting member of the Division Chiefs COP Leadership Group, the governing body of the Division Chiefs COP. Participates in monthly conference calls.

Number of Members

20 members per workgroup.
8 open leadership positions.

Composition

Each of the three work groups will have a chair, vice-chair, and 8 members. 

Leadership Group: This group serves as the governing body of the Division Chiefs COP. Membership includes members as follows: chair and vice chair of the COP, chair of each work group, plus two at-large members from the Division Chiefs COP.

Meeting Frequency

Work groups: One in-person meeting during IDWeek, in addition to teleconferences throughout the year. Work group members will be asked to respond to email communications on a regular or as-needed basis.

Leadership Group: Meets monthly through regularly scheduled conference calls.

Estimated Time Commitment

10-20 hours per year; additional time may be required for leadership positions.

Term of Office

The chairs, vice-chairs and at-large members will serve for two years.

Accountability

The workgroups will report to the Leadership Group, and the Leadership Group will report to the Professional Development Committee.

Experience Required

Applicants to be vice chair of work groups and at-large members to the Leadership Group do not require prior experience.
