Purpose

The Ending the HIV Epidemic Community of Practice will support a national forum for HIVMA members to network and support each other in implementing strategies to increase access to HIV syndemic services and support and grow the HIV workforce to make progress in ending HIV as an epidemic.  The CoP will promote equitable access to health services and person-centered care for people with HIV and people vulnerable to HIV.    

The CoP is not linked to the federal EHE initiative.   

Responsibilities

The Optimizing Clinical Practice Working Group will focus and document best practices regarding financial and administrative issues affecting clinical practice to sustain and grow services. Initial areas of focus may include practical administrative barriers to implementing long-acting products for prevention and treatment and strategies for implementing same-day PrEP and rapid start antiretroviral drugs. Issues will evolve over time.

Ideal Qualifications

Members should have an interest in financial and administrative issues affecting clinical practice, such as team-based care, 340B, billing and coding, and leveraging federal grants to sustain and grow services. 

All applicants should be interested in engaging with members to share best practices to advance the field and end HIV as an epidemic in the U.S.

Number of Members

Minimum of 18 members

Composition

Members shall include a Chair, Vice Chair and at least 18 members.

Meeting Frequency

Meet bi-monthly. Working Group members will be asked to respond to email communications regularly or as needed.

One in-person forum during IDWeek.

Estimated Time Commitment

10-20 hours per year.

Term of Office

Working Group members will serve three-year terms.

Accountability

The Working Group will report to the Leadership Committee of the EHE Community of Practice.  

Leadership Committee: This group serves as the governing body of the EHE CoP. Membership includes (2) EHE CoP Chair/Vice Chair, (2) Clinic Operations Working Group Chair/Vice Chair, (2) Hot Topics in Clinical Care Working Group Chair/Vice Chair and (3) Members at Large.
