Description:

The IDWeek Program Committee is seeking reviewers for the IDWeek abstract review process. You can help by volunteering to review abstracts in your area of expertise!  The success of the peer review process depends on the willingness of qualified reviewers to share their time and expertise.

Reviewers will be asked to review 20-35 abstracts, and either participate in a (up-to) 30 min conference call or provide recommendations electronically. Please note, the final decisions regarding reviewers will be made by the IDWeek Chairs and will be determined by actual number of submissions in a respective category and where additional reviewers may be needed. Abstract reviewers should have specific expertise in the content they evaluate as well as a broad knowledge of infectious diseases and infection prevention. Reviews must be performed in an unbiased fashion that is conscientious of the wide spectrum of participants of IDWeek.

Abstract Reviewer Criteria:

  • must have first-authored or senior-authored two or more peer-reviewed original manuscripts
  • must be two or more years out of training (must have completed by 2023 or later)

Responsibilities

  • Review assigned abstracts in a timely manner
  • Participate in a conference call or provide recommendations electronically

Estimated Time Commitment
15 hours (will depend on number of abstracts assigned)
