Purpose
IDSA membership ambassadors are champions for the Society and the value membership provides in the community of IDSA and HIVMA. Member ambassadors represent IDSA in peer to peer interactions for recruitment and renewal helping members and potential members see the benefit a collective voice has for their patients and their profession.
Responsibilities
Member recruitment:
- Promotes the benefits of IDSA/HIVMA membership, using word-of-mouth marketing, including online channels and social media, to prospective members/peers.
- Attends and hosts regional events in an effort to recruit new members.
Member retention:
- Encourages local IDSA/HIVMA members to renew their membership in the Society.
- Welcomes new members in their state/region and recommends ways to acknowledge new members and to encourage participation in IDSA/HIVMA activities.
- Identifies the needs of members and shares feedback with IDSA staff.
- A commitment to ensuring that principles of inclusion, diversity, access and equity are applied throughout IDSA governance.
IDSA will provide templates, tools, and staff assistance for all of the above responsibilities.
Number of Members
Maximum of 20
Composition
10-20 members spread throughout US in key states, e.g. California, Nebraska, Alabama, New York. Members will serve one-year terms, with no term limit.
Meeting Frequency:
Up to 1 in-person meetings (at
IDWeek for those already attending) and quarterly conference calls.
