Description:

To assist the Standards & Practice Guidelines Subcommittee (SGPS) in monitoring and prioritizing the IDSA Guideline Portfolio and implementing the PICO-centric model (PCM) across all active IDSA-led guidelines.

Please note that IDSA will only consider applicants who have previously served as panel members on an IDSA guideline and are not currently serving on an active panel.

This is a temporary volunteer opportunity for members interested in supporting Advisory Panel members by prioritizing IDSA’s portfolio of clinical questions. Selected members will be asked to join one of three pathogen-based groups:

  1. Gram-positive Bacteria
  2. Gram-negative Bacteria (includes AMR)
  3. Fungi

Responsibilities

  • Assist guideline panels in implementing the PCM and developing clinical policies.
  • Review existing IDSA guidelines and support prioritization in accordance with the PCM model changes and entire portfolio management.

Qualifications

  • Experience in the development and updating of clinical practice guidelines, guidance, and other standard setting documents.
  • Experience accessing IDSA guidelines on the IDSA website and a strong understanding of evidence-based medicine principles.
  • Experience in chosen subject-matter – reviewing documents, providing feedback, etc.
  • A commitment to adhere to IDSA policies and procedures.

  • Complete this conflict of interest disclosure form. Please report all disclosures for activities and financial relationships/investments (including federal funding) that are current, planned, or have occurred in the past two years. If you have no interests to disclose, please select "I have no employment or salaried positions within the last 24 months to disclose."
  • When completing IDSA's COI Form, please select "Standards and Practice Guidelines Advisory Panel (SPAP) under "IDSA Activity Being Considered For" 

Meeting Frequency

Meetings to be held as needed by teleconference. Members of this workgroup should be prepared to:

  • Attend up to a minimum of 4 meetings per year to help the SPGS prioritize clinical questions for development.
  • Commit up to 5 hours between August to December and help prioritize questions.
  • Additional remote ad-hoc meetings to be scheduled as needed.

Estimated Time Commitment

1-2 hours per month.

Appointment

Members shall be appointed by the SPGS Chair, with input from the Vice Chair and Committee staff.

Accountability

Reports to Standards & Practice Guidelines Subcommittee.
