Purpose

To establish and maintain communication with all infectious diseases academic units with accredited training programs in infectious diseases.

Responsibilities

• To assist training directors, in a manner that is mutually beneficial, with any or all facets of the training program curriculum.  Such activities may include, but are not limited to, recruitment to the field of infectious diseases, logistics of candidate selection, curriculum requirements and interaction with academic organizations responsible for curriculum accreditation requirements and board certification.

• A commitment to ensuring that principles of inclusion, diversity, access and equity are applied throughout IDSA governance.

Ideal Qualifications

Members should be ID Training Program Directors of an accredited adult ID Fellowship Program.

Composition

Members shall include a Chair, Vice-Chair, at least eight at-large members, an HIVMA Representative, a Fellows’ Subcommittee Representative, and a PIDS representative (voting).  In addition, a member of the Board of Directors, and the Chief Executive Officer of the Society will serve in a non-voting capacity. 

Meeting Frequency

Meetings to be held quarterly, as needed, by virtual meeting or in-person, for a total of 4 meetings per year. Committee members will be asked to respond to email communications on a regular or as needed basis to provide input on emerging concepts or strategies. Committee members may also be asked to volunteer for working groups that require additional teleconferences/virtual meetings and/or email communication.

Estimated Time Commitment

1-2 hours per month; additional time will be required if member participates in working group(s) for special projects.

Method of Appointment

The members shall be appointed by the Board of Directors, with input from the President-elect in consultation with the CEO, committee chair, and staff liaison.

Term of Office

The Chair and Vice Chair shall serve for two years. Reappointment for one additional, consecutive, one-year term is permissible.  Members shall serve three-year terms.
