Description:

Purpose

The Committee helps to guide the strategic development and support for the G.E.R.M. Program in addition to reviewing and scoring applications and identifying awardees.

 

Responsibilities

  • Review and score grant applications.
  • Participate in teleconferences and meetings.
  • Help to evaluate and strengthen the program.
  • A commitment to ensuring that principles of inclusion, diversity, access and equity are applied throughout IDSA governance.


Ideal Qualifications

Members should be active or leaders in ID/HIV clinical education and/or research and interested in ID/HIV workforce development.

 

Number of Members

Minimum of 24 members

 

Composition

Members shall include a Chair, Vice Chair and at least 24 at-large members.

 

Meeting Frequency

The committee convenes 2-3 times per year via teleconference and may hold an in person meeting in conjunction with IDWeek.

Estimated Time Commitment

1-2 hours per month, February through March, October and December with an additional commitment of time (3 to 4 hours) in February and March to review the applications.

 

Method of Appointment

The members shall be appointed by the HIVMA Executive Committee and the IDSA Executive Committee in consultation with the HIVMA Executive Director and staff liaison and IDSA Chief Executive Officer.

 

Term of Office

The Chair and Vice Chair shall serve for two years.  Reappointment for one additional, consecutive, one-year term is permissible.  Members shall serve three-year terms with no option for consecutive reappointment.

 

Accountability

Reports to the IDSA Foundation Board of Directors and HIVMA Board Directors
