Description:

Build the framework and content needed to provide ID professionals, including physicians, pharmacists, APPs, nurses, and fellows in training with foundational pandemic preparedness education, knowledge and expertise, along with advanced education, knowledge and expertise for those who will lead pandemic response initiatives.

Time Commitment

•    Number of meetings: Meetings for the panel are held monthly. As content development progresses, smaller meetings with each team are often required to meet additional goals and timelines. Most meetings are held by teleconference and occasionally in-person (usually IDWeek).
•    Work required outside of meetings: Time commitment varies depending on curriculum development status. Overall, members will typically spend a maximum of 5- 10 hours per month developing content, brainstorming with their teams and participating in monthly calls. Peer reviews and testing may contribute to these hours as well. Panel members are often asked to respond to email communications on a regular or as needed basis to provide input or review content.

•    Contribute to the IDSA strategic plan through the development of a pandemic preparedness curriculum.
•    Provide content and data used in building and maintaining 1) a core curriculum for foundational training in pandemic preparedness, and 2) an advanced curriculum for ID leaders who desire or plan to lead pandemic preparedness and outbreak response activities. Work involves actively drafting, recording and building curricular components; evaluating and conducting peer review of content developed by work group members; and reviewing curriculum courses and modules as they are developed by IDSA staff
•    Propose updates and enhancements to curriculum as new research, findings, and topics of interest change
