    Thanks for those of you who could make it to our first IDIIG group virtual meeting!

    Attached are meeting minutes, slides, and transcript.  Unfortunately, no recording but we will plan to do so next meeting!

    Formation and Purpose of ID Informatics Interest Group: Amy Chang and Alexandra V Yamshchikov introduced the ID Informatics interest group under IDSA, outlining its purpose to promote informatics education, collaboration, and advocacy within the infectious diseases community, with support from a steering committee and plans for quarterly meetings and engagement at ID Week.
    Member Introductions and Networking: Participants including Amy Chang, Alexandra V Yamshchikov, George Diaz, Cory Hussein, Joshua Abby, and others introduced themselves, sharing their backgrounds, institutional affiliations, informatics experience, and interests in collaboration, project sharing, and learning from peers in the field.
    Upcoming Survey and Needs Assessment: Amy Chang announced an upcoming engagement survey to assess informatics educational gaps and needs within the ID community, aiming to guide advocacy, resource development, and institutional support for informatics among ID providers.
    ID Week Informatics Content and Group Activities: Amy Chang and Alexandra V Yamshchikov discussed informatics-related sessions and activities at the upcoming ID Week, including a dedicated booth, session highlights, and strategies for tagging and finding informatics content in the program.
    Brainstorming Future Meeting Topics: Amy Chang facilitated brainstorming for future meeting topics, with participants expressing interest in lab stewardship, clinical decision support implementations, and practical approaches to data extraction and visualization from EHRs.
    Open Forum: AI Tools and EHR Data Utilization: Participants including Cory Hussein, Alexandra V Yamshchikov, Amy Chang, James Harrigan, Shivan Chopman, and George Diaz discussed experiences with ambient AI tools like DAX, challenges in documentation, and the use of platforms like Vizient for quality improvement and advocacy in ID.
    Standardization and Advocacy for EHR Improvements: Jana Dichter, Amy Chang, George Diaz, and others discussed the need for standardization of EHR elements for ID, proposing that the group work with Epic and IDSA to advocate for informatics standards and improved data accessibility across institutions.
